Ms. Susan Partridge

 

Ms. Susan Partridge is a UK trained clinical psychologist, with a license to practice both in the UK and in Abu Dhabi. She was the first British Clinical Psychologist to be licensed to practice in Abu Dhabi. She has expertise in the fields of adult mental health, forensic clinical work and addiction, and has worked in a range of diverse environments from primary care to medium secure settings and has over 40 years’ experience working as a clinical psychologist.

Between 1997-2010 before she moved to the UAE, she was responsible for the training of clinical psychology doctoral students as a Senior Lecturer in the Post Graduate Medical Institute at the University of Hull, UK and over that period was a member of the national Group of Trainers in Clinical Psychology.

From August 2011-March 2017 she was based at the American Center for Psychiatry and Neurology in Abu Dhabi providing psychological therapy to adults with a range of mental health problems. She was Head of Psychology at ACPN from 2013 and Group Head of Psychology from February 2016 to March 2017, providing supervision and support to 3 clinics containing 20 psychologists. Since March 2017 she has worked as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist at Maudsley Health in Abu Dhabi developing and providing services for adults with a range of mental health issues, providing clinical supervision of other staff, participating in clinical governance activities, and giving lecturing and webinars. She was accepted as Subject Matter Expert for clinical psychology by Abu Dhabi Health Authority in June 2021. She has a number of published papers and book chapters, with her two most recent papers, in collaboration with UAE colleagues focusing on clinical supervision and ethical standards in mental health care, which is currently in press.
