Laila Alseiari is a first year student at New York University Abu Dhabi, pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering. A passionate advocate for mental health and inclusivity, Laila has consistently sought opportunities to make a meaningful impact in this field. She was a member of the organizing committees for the 2nd and 3rd Abu Dhabi Integrated Mental Health Conferences.
During her year-long internship at SEHA’s SAKINA Mental Health Services, Laila focused on raising awareness and developing innovative project ideas to address mental health challenges in the community. Her dedication to mental health advocacy began in high school, where she created her own mental health platforms to support students struggling with stress and anxiety.
In university, Laila combined her technical expertise with her passion for mental health by working on a project to develop a form of virtual reality therapy designed to help manage stress and anxiety.
Beyond academics and mental health initiatives, Laila is also an accomplished fencer, having represented the UAE in SAKINA
